#BlackLivesMatter Trans and Queer People of Color Collective Rally After Anti-Trans & Anti-Queer Legislation is Debated in North Carolina

One of the most important events in the resistance to North Carolina’s new anti-Trans/anti-LGBTQ law was the rally held by North Carolina’s Black Lives Matter, Trans and Queer People of Color Collective the day after the lawmakers convened to pass the hateful legislation.  The fact that this has not been covered by the mainstream media despite the story being known for many days, contributes to the erasure and delegitimization of people most affected by this law. I’m far from the mainstream but I want to do what I can to get the word out. Here’s the information included with the video and a link to a site where you can learn more and donate:

NC #BlackLivesMatter QTPOC Rally Against HB2 | March 24, 2106

Donate to SONG to help fight HB2! bit.ly/givetosong

On March 23, 2016, North Carolina lawmakers convened a ‘special session’ to pass HB2, the most vicious anti-LGBTQ and anti-worker law passed in this country in recent years. HB2 endangers and demonizes transgender people, gender nonconforming people, and anyone who transgresses gender stereotypes in public, bans local governments from passing local anti-discrimination ordinances, and prevents NC cities from raising the minimum wage above the statewide minimum wage. Help us fight the law itself, the climate of violence it escalates, and the hate that it promotes. bit.ly/givetosong
