Albuquerque Trans March To “End The Silence – Stop The Violence”

A group of concerned transgender citizens and their allies marched in Albuquerque, New Mexico as part of a nationwide effort to draw attention to the violence directed at trans women, particularly trans women of color. This violence has resulted in at least 17 murders so far in 2015. #ProtectTransLives #BlackTransLivesMatter #TransIsBeautiful #TransLivesMatter

There was quite a bit of discrimination down Central and some situations that were ridiculous but there was also a great deal of support by people driving by!
We marched for the 17 Trans women murdered so far this year.
END THE SILENCE, STOP THE VIOLENCE

  1. Good for them, and I love the butterfly placards. 🙂 That is such a good symbol of how I feel about being trans: a coming to terms with and finally an embracing of one’s authentic self. A grim indictment of our society, though, that such a positive process often ends fatally…
